And so it begins……
Saturday was the first of 11 baptisms this year for Lea’s primary class – 11! Lea and I attended Laura’s baptism and were surprised to be able to see another friend from the Gila River ward (previous ward before the ward split) – Brianna. She and Lea were in the same Kindergarten class – fun for them to see each other again and be apart of that special day.
Amazing kids and excellent primary teachers – Brother & Sister Winn who bravely teach all 11 of them. Although Lea says Brother Winn is there to help Sister Winn and doesn’t spend much time in the classroom. :0) The have a baby he takes care of in/out of class. He really does more than just take care of the baby.

oh boy…
“AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH-UH!!!!” Lucas was frustrated trying to hang up his new church shirt and vest.
He came out of his room with an empty hanger and whining about his situation. I being so caring and concerned, refused to help until I could understand him without the whining.
“What’s wrong?” I , of course, already knew the answer because I speak ‘Whine’. But I asked anyway.
“I’m trying to hang up my shirt and vest, but it keeps falling off the hooker.” (look of complete frustration as he swung the HANGER in his hand)
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah, they won’t stay on the hooker-thing.”
(using all my will power to not crack up) “Bring the clothes here and I can help you.”
Who called it a hanger anyway?? It does have a ‘hook’ and not a ‘hang’.

Growing pains
Not the old TV sitcom, but the pains and woes of getting older and things changing. We have one very, VERY sad little teething baby. His first bottom tooth poked through and the second is not far behind – I can feel it beneath the gums. Poor baby. He tries to soothe himself, but those fingers just aren’t working. Ora-jel to the rescue, along with the thumb sucking.
Christmas at Grandpa & Grandma Reynolds beach house - Washington Coast. The fingers have been in his mouth long before the tooth ever arrived.
Growing up
Going to sign my 4-year old up for Kindergarten this next school year (graduating class of 2024!!!)…..when did he go from this:

LOVE frames–upcoming project
I absolutely love this idea! I have a long hallway from the front door and an large empty space on the wall. My “happy birthday” sign is up for 6 months of the year since we all have our own birthday months, but this would be perfect for Valentine’s day. Added bonus, I’ll actually use my scrapbook paper I’ve purchased over the last couple years. I found the project here at The Baeza Blog. Some random blog I happened to find.

Christmas Road Trip – Part 1
We get driving – spare is barely full enough to drive on (only 20 psi supposed to be in the 40’s) We drive to a bunch of small towns all the while talking to Jeff’s brother Steven in Provo as he’s trying to find places for us to go. Only problem – IT’s SUNDAY. Little towns close down on Sunday and it was looking like we were going to be staying somewhere for the night. It was already dark, I was on the verge of breaking down myself as I imagined all the worst possible situations we’d have to do: stuck on the side of the road, sleeping in the car in a parking lot, paying an arm/leg for a tire, having to wait several days for a tire that noone had……..all of those. Mostly I didn’t want to unload the entire car for one night when we were so close to our destination. After checking all our options and all repair/tow places were closed. We considered transferring our hotel reservations in Portland to the little town we were in – we were staying FREE!! (yea!) at the Holiday Inn Express. I had been texting my sister the whole day and at the time I told her we had a flat tire and the spare was pretty close to flat, noone was open. She and her family knelt down to have a special prayer for us (brings tears to my eyes – seems silly now, but it was very stressful being in an unfamiliar place, running on the literally the end of the van tires).
My prayer and the prayer my sister’s family said on our behalf was answered, when Steven called me back with a Walmart that was 20 miles away and had a tire center open for another hour…….GREAT! We can get there, I think. I’m grateful he called back because I had originally told him to not worry about it. I’m glad he worried.
