Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!

This time around, Lucas is old enough to play - things became a little bit busier with 2 practice nights and 2 games each Saturday. IT WAS HOT!

Isn't this what shinguards are for?
Trying to keep Lea cool during her game - did I mention it was HOT!!

 Just scored!!! Way to go!!

 Love the tunnel!

And of course......SNACKS! He could often be found having a mid-game snack and on occasion pulled himself out because he was hungry...............
 Break away!

Halloween

Deserves it's own post and well here goes! It was the holiday that never ENDED!! Since our usual group moved that we go trick-or-treating with and Halloween was on Sunday - we had a debate....do we go by ourselves and if so, do we go on Sunday?! (*gasp*) We had to visit the Halloween house in our neighborhood and the Sorensens decided to come back and go with us. So we went on Sunday and enjoyed visiting with other neighbors out and about. Not as many as last year, but still a lot of kids and great neighbors. :) No worries, by the time Halloween actually showed up, I was tired of Halloween, but we got great use out of our costumes!

Party for the kids not in school: (Aitkens invited us to hang out)
 a little parade
 Introducing: IRON MAN :)
The lion sleeps tonight.....
 The Iron Mans
He really wanted a picture with Lucas. :)

Headed to the Ward Party:
HAHA!! Poor little Lion is less than thrilled to be in these pictures.

Shootout - if you get really close, you're guaranteed a win!
 Jeff and Maylee Jones

Lea was shooting the camera man (Jeff)
This was just pure genius! A Goldfish race (seriously with real gold fish!!) Two long rain gutters, big bucket of goldfish and a little help, the race is on. At one point, Lucas picked up his fish and Abbey was licking her lips.....thought for sure she ate the fish, but nope we're good. They had a great time!

Abbey the Superman. No, not super-girl, Superman. :)

 At preschool with Lucas
Off to the Guerena's for a peanut free party! :)
Why is that Iron Man is the only one not doing what Iron Man does??
In the bounce house - thanks Matt for jumping with Abbey
 AND FINALLY: Trick-or-Treating.
Pete the Dominican Republic crazy was back this year and Jeff ended up with his own costume, Super-Iron-the Lion. :)

 Happy Halloween!!

Tutorial - as promised

As promised here is a How To: complete with photos.
When one's child "accidentally" applies petroleum jelly as hair gel - you get this: (at least she was in the bathroom, but the gel was in the crib with diaper stuff)

Of course it's dinner time, getting close to bed time and the baby will be crying.....
And several attempts to just wash it out and a day later, you get "the wet look" and desperately check Google for help!!!  I found what I needed - at least the instructions. All I needed was Olive oil and dish soap.
Seems easy, but no olive oil.........what to do - walk across the street to my neighbor, whom I sort of know and occasionally talk too - every other month....explained the situation as she laughed and gave me some olive oil. Back I went to try it out - what's the worst that could happen - her hair couldn't end up more greasy. :)

 Cute isn't she?!

  1. Soak your hair completely in olive oil.

  2. Scrub the olive oil into your hair with your hands.

  3. Apply dish-washing liquid; it should cover your hair. Don't use dish washer type, use the kind for manual washing.

  4. Scrub the dish-washing liquid into your hair.

  5. Wash your hair out completely.

 6. Apply conditioner to your hair if you like.
 7. Enjoy your petroleum-jelly-free hair.

I tried at least 4 times, but I missed the first part about soaking the hair in the olive oil since I didn't have much to start with, I was trying to spare some for later. :) By day 3, we were back to this - just in time for a Halloween party and family pics of the kids.
