Cards vs 49ers on MNF

Jeff was lucky enough to get tickets to a Monday Night Football game on November 29, 2010 (a nice late birthday present – too bad it wasn’t from me…..)  AZ Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers. I really wanted to go, but also didn’t want to find a babysitter for that late of a school night and pay for both tickets plus a babysitter. The Farris family was kind enough to watch our kids for us on a non co-op night. Thank you!!

The Cards have a former BYU QB Max Hall on their team and I was hoping to get to watch him play – no such luck.

While the game was a total bust (Cards lost 24-3 and went through 3 QB’s), the crowd around us did not disappoint. Security was called at least 6 times within 15 minutes – just goes to show that alcohol and a losing team are not  a winning combination.

There were pros and cons to a live game.

Pro: You get to be there and watch the game

see all the action that goes on during commercials on TV

enjoy the game atmosphere.

Con: I don’t get to fast forward during long time-outs and half-time

I’m sitting too close for comfort to other people. Thankfully most left by half time for the Beer Garden. Smile

TV gives us a closer view of the game and instant replays

It was a lot of fun to spend time with Jeff – just us and no worries about the kids with a babysitter. Thanks again Farris’!

Haha! Just realized I have no pictures of the actual game – it was that bad! Smile And it was cold in there, even at the top of the stadium – we were right under the air vents.

And I can’t remember who performed at half-time, but there’s a picture of it – wahoo!

Attitude of Gratitude

My dad has this tie-pin he used to wear: 'attitude'. Occasionally it would get turned upside down or tipped to the side and he'd need an 'attitude adjustment' - haha! I think of this tie-pin every time I see/hear the word attitude. Best part is my dad rarely if ever needs an attitude adjustment. :)

Anywho, we (Amy and I) went visiting teaching to Stacy in November. I brought along a talk from President Monson from the October Conference 2010. He spoke on the Divine Gift of Gratitude - if you haven't read it, READ it. Stacy's family had started a list of Gratitude and each person who came to their house was able to leave their own message on the list. She left us with butcher paper to start our own. This is what we are thankful for:

The puppies

Travis (a friend of Jeff's from Idaho Falls) has been to our home before and brought his dogs. Honestly I'm not an animal person - AT ALL. But I survived the first time he brought his dogs and so did my yard and kids, so I didn't mind them coming again. :) Besides, we like Travis.

Dinner at Garcia's
To say my girls are terrified of dogs, well it's a HUGE understatement. This is their view the entire time the dogs are at our house. From behind the screen, running screaming if the dogs run towards the door. But we're making progress - little as it is, progress it still is.
Titus and Mojo - the puppies :)

Lucas loved the dogs - he was out there and Travis' shadow the entire time they were here.

Jeff managed to get Lea outside, but she ran to the other side of the yard - notice the dogs don't care?!

Love this series of photos - watch Lea - she gets just a smidge closer in each photo, even Abbey gets brave and pet Titus.

 and.........
We're done. :)

Titus is a 150lb bulldog mastiff - only 1 year old.

 Jeff's new dancing partner.

maybe a little smooch...... or not.

Thanks for coming Travis!

Turkey Day

Went to Thanksgiving at Sorensens - nice to have dinner with 'family' and also not host it either. :) Although I did miss the leftovers, but I survived.

Travis came and brought his two BIG puppies - Titus and Mojo.
 Brynn, Lea and Abbey

Travis and Jeff - dinner setting in and dessert is done too.

Ammon was less than thrilled to just smell the yummy food.

Fighting over Travis' REALLY cool phone.

Shea playing with Ammon, Ang crashed after dinner - she'd been up for 36 hours straight or longer, but she still managed to make the best Thanksgiving food ever! :)

 Still playing with Travis' phone

A perfect day.

Happy, happy birthday Jeffrey dear

Happy birthday Jeff!!! Jeff turned 32 this year and I had all but lost my creativity for birthdays this year, but we managed to pull something off just for him. I even wrapped his present while he was in the same room - Risenmay style of course. Which means a ridiculous amount of paper and tape to distort the actual gift. I did my best. :) Next time - duct tape.

We even hid gifts in Abbey's pockets - a Subway gift card.

  Panda Express for dinner...

and for dessert we had this YUMMY ice cream cake.

Fall Carnival

This year we decided to help out at Lea's fall carnival for school. I dropped off the younger 3 and took Lea with her friend Natasha to the carnival. The girls had a great time. I walked around with them and Jeff took over for me at the booth for the hayride. The main objective for the night (at least for the girls) was to win a fish......I'm so glad they didn't..... :) but they sure tried.

Face Painting - these painters were AMAZING!

The Butterfly and the Sassy Kitty - super cute huh?

And of course, no girls night is complete without ice cream!

Before we left the carnival, Jeff found us and was sneezing up a storm. I asked him why and he said he went on the hay ride - why (remember, you're allergic to hay.....). Some rowdy boys that I had seen on their skate boards ride through the middle of the carnival had made their way to the hayride and wanted to ride. The only adult there was the driver, so he asked if Jeff would come be a bouncer. He only had to tell them once to watch their language and they responded to his tough attitude. :)
