Went to watch "Eclipse" last night - which by the way, when I was invited to Melissa's 30th birthday party, I had no idea what "Eclipse" was. I thought it was an action adventure type movie.......sadly mistaken when we went to Burger King on our way out of town and the movie was advertised all over the store......Jeff laughed at me and was happy to see I wasn't crazy for the series......still am I the only who didn't know this?! Even my brother-in-law could quote from movie #2....in light of the series, here are some questions I'd like answers to - any help would be great. So happy birthday Melissa - thanks for the party invite and we must be BFF's because I actually paid to go to a movie and a movie I wasn't ever going to watch. :)
What do the vampires (Edward's family) eat when they "go hunt"?
Why is Edward so creepy? He's like the stalker boyfriend - always reading her thoughts, keeping her from other boys and constantly asking her to marry him......
Why does Bella keep going back to Edward, when clearly Jacob is the better option?
Why aren't there any other boys in the movie that could be better than the wolf and the vampire?
Why doesn't the dad just move them out of state?
Does he (the dad) know Edward is a vampire?
Why does Bella want to be a vampire so badly - does she really want to "live" on blood? Please ruin it for me and tell me she doesn't actually become a vampire - she'll regret it.
And REALLY, does Jacob own a shirt or does it just get in the way every time he transforms - you would think the same thing would happen to his shorts, yet he wears shorts all the time?
And doesn't it seem totally random that the only big name in the movie is Dakota Fanning? Well aside from Jacob, aka Shark Boy.
And did you notice that 2 of the actors: Bella's mom and dad play bad guys in Season 2 and 3 of "24"?
And riddle me this: why if I can't stand this series is it taking up so much of my brain power? It haunted my dreams last night which was extremely irritating and I couldn't sleep. I can say this was far better than the last one - happy to see lots of action and I don't mean all the sappy teenage love drama/crap.

Well I can't riddle you any of that because i have no idea! but i agree with you on all fronts.
and you can't publicly invite people to be your new BFF, it makes me sad, do it in private and then put them on hold while we hang:)
I know most of this. Don't disown me. haha. Hearing what the series was about was totally the exact opposite of what I'd ever be interested in, but it was honestly really good. I'm being serious. The movies, however, aren't even close to being as good as the books. Erin had it forever ruined for her seeing the movie first. I'm not sure if I would have liked them had I of seen it on the big screen prior so I'm going to guess you won't either, Alison.
Okay, Edward and his family hunt animals. (Deer, etc) That's also why their eyes are a different color.
Bella's mind is the ONLY mind Edward can't read. It drives him crazy. I too find him more of a stalker. As for asking her to marry him so much, I don't remember it being so nagging in the book, but maybe it was? Bella is against marriage because of her parents divorce, etc. He has been around forever and is apparently really ready to settle down. haha. She wants to do the deed and he's old fashioned. He wants to wait for marriage. She wants to become a vampire and he wants her to stay mortal. It's his compromise to get her to seal the deal. It did seem a little excessive in the movie, but it's a teen drama so it fits. haha.
I'm a Team Jacob girl. Was in the books and still am in the movies, so AGREED.
No boys are better because that would be normal. haha. Jacob was not initially a wolf. He was transformed because of the Cullens being there. Old tribal thing. Bella found out AFTER they'd started hanging out. She was also very intrigued by Edward before she knew he was a vampire. He and his family are supposed to be extremely beautiful and on the mysterious side. They are also very wealthy. Bella is a gold digger. hahahaha. Kidding. I think beautiful and mysterious got her hooked. The vampire thing was just a bonus afterwards. HA.
The dad (Charlie) knows nothing about the vampires and wolves. He thinks he's dealing with regular teen folk drama.
Bella doesn't want to age. She freaked out on her last birthday that she and Edward were the same age (human wise) and doesn't want to be older than him. That was my take on her drive to do it so soon.
Jacob's clothes do rip up everytime he transforms. I slightly remember him talking about it in the book, but it's fuzzy for me about carrying clothing. It's been a couple years and I'm normal and only read it once. Having his shirt off in the movie is not a minus. The pants would make it a different rating.
Hahaha.
I don't remember Charlie (the dad) in 24. Who did he play? I did remember her mom. She killed Jack's wife, Terri, right? Tisk, tisk, Renee!
And the movie is haunting you because the movie was good. Admit it, Alison, it was good. Welcome to Team Jacob. hahaha. :0)
Thanks Jami - I now don't have to read the books or watch any more of the movies. :) One more question....you would think the eyes would give the Cullens away that they are just plain weird people....whatever it's a movie. :)
And Bella's dad was Mr. Matheson - Kim Bower was the nanny and she shot him in Season 2. And the mom was Nina Myers - novice killer, traitor, spy, just plain evil. Strange to see her playing the loving concerned mother.
Thank you for answering my questions - I will sleep soundly. Well as soundly as I can at 8 months pregnant in the middle of the AZ summer.....And I didn't mind the movie - the battle scene was my favorite part. :)
HAhahahaha - this entire post with its comments are hilarious. Yes, I know all the answers to these questions. I read a lot, including a whole lot of "teenage" type stuff like Twilight. In the book, all the werewolves have pretty much ruined all their clothes transforming, so they start taking care to take off their jean shorts and tie them around one ankle before they turn into wolves - then they have something to put back on when they change back. This wasn't addressed in the movies...
