Riding bikes is fun to do

Seems a bit bizarre to be writing about a place that is currently in freezing temps and possibly has snow on the ground, but that's how far behind I am on blogging, and we had a fabulous time on our summer vacation - warm thoughts, warm thoughts, warm thoughts - maybe that will thaw us out. :)

This little girl learned how to ride a two wheeler!! Parents tried, but to no success.
The older sister was very successful!
 pure joy and sweet freedom!

Not as successful, but still a fun time!

There were only little princess bikes and Lucas was not having it. I found this bike at Goodwill for $25! I may have spent a lot of time at Goodwill, my new favorite shopping place.
yes riding bikes is fun, even when it's purple.....

Slip-n-slide

To cool off, Grandpa pulled out this slip-n-slide to try out. The water was pretty cold, but felt great on a hot summer day.
not quite as daring as the rest and a little bit bigger to fit through. :)
discussing how to go through the tunnel and use the mat
 bahahaha!

 SQUIRREL!

 Getting a little more creative:

FORCE

Finally made it to Richland and spent a couple days watching this girl rock the softball field. Way to go Calla, Calla Hunt, 10, Coco, Cal-la! We thought we'd escape the heat - wowzers, it was HOT!
so I missed the end of a very exciting game where she bunt-ed in the winning run. I could never be a sports photographer - have to watch the game! :)

Ammon was her only loyal fan of my kids - the rest stayed with other cousins and played. To be fair, he is in a rocket ship blasting to the moon.
Mo and Aubrey - her's my favorite cousin
injury time-out or pitcher time-out....something. Way to Calla!

Vacation-gram

vacation according to the iphone and instragram: starting with dropping of the moving truck in Chandler, AZ and seeing this awesome jet-boat in the middle of the night. :)
to Utah, via a short stay in Vegas
 the super-moon in Park City
 Olympic Park
silly little cousins: Kaibs, Mo, Paiz
a little farm life experience for us non-farm life people (except the original Risenmays who had fond memories of farm-life)
family togetherness - brought to you by DP and phase10 and one little girl that should have been in bed. :)

We left Jeff in Salt Lake with Eric and then headed out for Washington to see my family. It was a long drive....10 hours by myself.
My parents met me in LeGrande, OR - about 2 hours from Richland. I just couldn't drive any more. I traveled with my mom and left my dad with the kids. I had to switch back to keep Mo happy and some kids went with Grandma. So grateful!
