Conquered
I survived the bridge and it wasn't even scary. We couldn't see the dam and it was just like any other bridge or so it seemed - the view was mostly blocked. There are no walkways, stopping or parking within 2 miles of the bridge and the most bizarre thing is the only barrier is the cement wall, no rod iron fences, above that, but the wall is probably 6-7 feet tall. A little video - this was on our way back and it's pretty dark. When we finished crossing the first time - both our comments were "that was it?"

Vegas
Risenmay style:
injuries can happen at any moment - even if it's 10 minutes after arriving at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
building with legos is fun to do.....to do, to do.
Do the Lego guys think she's a giant baby with a pink bow??
Lego Horse Racing is exhausting.
You're never too old to play with LEGOS - do you see any little ones in the photo?!
Some nail salons really are family friendly - pink and purple are my specialty.
A hilarious game of Hide-n-seek is a must!
Found you Abbey!
Lea's AWESOME hiding place........
Abbey stepped on her at least 3 times and so did Lucas.
Tried this spot too....
Grandmas are allowed to just sit and hold the baby.
Beatles Rockband with a 2 year old lead guitarist - the next big show. Starts at 12:01pm and ends at 12:03 pm. Barring any tantrums, and the show is finished in time for lunch/snack time or nap time.
Yes he does have an alter-ego (aka Superman)
Birthdays are meant to be celebrated with family and friends - with homemade signs and yummy 'death by chocolate' cupcakes
Moments like these are worth more than any Casino jackpot.......
.........they're priceless

help! (*gulp*)
we're driving over this, this weekend....... The (are you ready for the name) Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge or Hoover Dam Bypass
I AM SO VERY MUCH AFRAID OF HEIGHTS. Along with PLUNGING TO MY DEATH WITH FAMILY OVER THE EDGE OF A BRIDGE................I guess I know which part of our trip I will be trying to sleep for. It's safe to say I WILL NOT (neither will my kids) be walking across it, near it or anything else, but getting across in my vehicle at a reasonable and safe speed. Call it irrational, call it stupid, but I don't like it and it is one of my BIGGEST fears!!!!!
We've watched it being built and I don't like crossing the dam either, but that seems so much more stable since it goes ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND, not suspended in mid-air.

It's really sad.....
that all of our friends moved away. Chase, Jasmin, Jaxon, Brynn, and....and.....mom, what's our other friends that moved away?" Lucas
Me: Sydney and Theron?
Lucas: Yeah, Sydney......and Theron, and Sydney.
Abbey chimes in: an Ally, an Ally, an Ally.
Yes it's very sad that all of our friends have moved away. (all nodding in agreement)

One good storm deserves another.
Backing up again - in August, we had an awesome thunder/lightening storm come through. Not much rain, but dark clouds and beautiful sunset.
HAHAHA!!!! Funny story for the above picture: It's a picture of Jeff's hand. He was trying to run up the slide instead took a dive off to the side as his sandals slipped on the wet slide. In the process taking a picture of his palm - but it was all worth it for the next photo. :)
In October, we got this crazy storm - rain, pea size - golf ball size hail, flooding, major lightening. Dents and dings in Jeff's car - it was crazy all over the valley. We went to Beckers that day since it was fall break for all the kids, hoping to swim and we're lucky we weren't swept down the street in a flood.
To the Beckers:
The crazies rode bikes/scooters home from the park which was a torrential down pour by the time we made it a block from the park.
Lea, Jaxon, Ethan and Lucas under the umbrella, Ally in the rain. :) Right before they ran back to the garage and Lucas biffed it on the garage floor and about knocked himself out - time to go inside.
And the aftermath of tired and wet kids. :)
