8 is enough

Back to the Splash pad - we babysat for the Aitkens and took the kids to the splash pad. We had to take both cars to get there with all 8 kids! Ages: 8(almost 9),8,7,6,4(almost 5),4, and 2-18 month old
(4 boys, 4 girls)
A girl at the park asked Jeff if all the kids were ours. No, we're babysitting 4 of them. The 4 that look nothing like Jeff or myself - dark skin, dark hair. Although they all could be ours - I would be totally insane by now, but it could have been us. As we packed up the kids to leave, this same girl and a friend were discussing the 8 kids tagging along with us.
Went something like this:
'Do you think those are all their's?'
No, they're babysitting 4 of them.
'Wow, 8 kids - ask them if they're all their's'
No you ask
No you....
(at this point we're walking right past them and I heard a bit of what they were saying, not realizing they were talking about us though.)
The mom turned around and said 'The girls want to know how many of the 8 children are yours'.
So we explained which ones were ours although Hyrum and Ammon could be twins, 3 days apart. :)
It must have been quite the sight......
Of course we shared the new use for buckets. (Michelle)
Mo and Abbey
 Jeff and Jakob
 Jeff, Jakob and Lea
that's Mo getting the brunt of the water right after I snagged him out of another water feature he was less than happy to be in. I risked my new camera to save him. :)

Jeff the good dad that he is, made a place for Mo to play by sitting on the drain - it doesn't drain very well anyway, so he was able to help it out (Michelle, Lucas, Jeff, Mo, Abbey and Hyrum)
Jakob and Lea fighting for territory in the circle of water
 I love this picture!
Again I risked my camera to get a picture of Jakob like Lea's above. Instead the bucket right above me dumped first and I had to snap the photo and back out in a hurry! Jakob is sitting on the ground - no clue who the other kid is.

A small water fight broke out:
Mo took a turn....not much water on Jeff, but he's sure happy to get his dad back!
 Hyrum got him!

Bike work

Going for a bike ride that turned into not going and sweating it out in the garage. Broken tire, flat tires and a broken pump. We finally got all the bikes ready except Abbey's - she climbed in the stroller - she was bugged into silence because she had to ride in the bike trailer. We made it to the high school down the street and could hear air quickly leaking out.....Jeff had a flat on his new tire. I took off towards the house with Lea and Lucas. Jeff and Abbey walked his bike back. We dropped the bikes in the garage, climbed in the car to go back and pick them up. What a day!

Time to burn

What to do when dinner is finished, the dad is still at work and it's still light outside?? We go for a LONG walk to wear everyone out and enjoy the beauty of the earth.
just have to climb - everything!
this is the entrance to our development -it's fairly tall and you can see the width of his hands is the width of the brick.
We walk about 1 mile and then the kids are ready for bed and so am I.
