Lea's special day

Can I really have an 8 year old?!
Saturday, Aug 27th, 2011
It was a beautiful day, another first for our family, and we're grateful to have spent it with so many friends and family.
Lea and her good friend Brisa. Brisa was baptized at 4pm, Lea at 5pm. It was great to see these two girls so grown up and still friends even after not being the same ward for several years and never going to the same school. Some friendships just last. :) Congrats to Brisa - it was her birthday that day!
 Our 4 little ones
 A decent family photo
Cousins!!!! Taylee, Brianna, Ammo (digging at Tanner's braces), Tanner, Lucas, Lea, Abbey, Ashley, Shay
 Lea and her proud daddy
Lea and her proud mommy - who surprisingly didn't cry :)
Love those 2 photos!!! I had to move them towards each to get a picture taken.......funny age. Lea and Kyle Boblett
Those who were there early. :)
 Lea and Ethan
Aren't those cake pops and cupcakes to AWESOME!!!! A friend of ours offered to make them, I didn't give any suggestions to what to make - she's very talented and this is what she made. It was EXACTLY what Lea wanted. They were so yummy too! :) Thank you Alex!
These are 3 of her 4 kids, her youngest is 3 days older than Ammon.
Michelle, Lucas, Brianna, Jakob, Lea

I'm disappointed I didn't get a picture of all those who came (Palfreemans, Sorensens, my brother Sorensens, Redmonds, Beckers, G&G Riz, G&G Sorensen, Aitkens) or even with the grandparents since both were there are the same time. But I'm glad for the pictures we have and Lea knows how much she is loved. Thank you all for your support - in presence and in spirit. :) Thank you to my parents and in-laws for providing dinner for everyone and Jeff for grillin'. It was yummy!

Back to the beach

Back to our trip to Irish Beach. This was for the Risenmay family (Jeff, brothers and parents) All were there, but Eric and Sharolyn - we missed you!! Grandma brought a LAUNDRY basket full of crafts. The kids made necklaces, bracelets, pipe cleaner crafts, bubbles, and more!

This is the view from the back porch. It was always this cloudy, but it made for some interesting days, us being so used to ONLY sunshine.
What do you do in cooler weather......we play football!
Lucas trying to throw the ball OVER Jeff.
Uncle Nathan giving the play to his very attentive teammates.
Abbey's job was to tackle Steven.
A high five from Uncle Nathan for doing her job! :)

We looked at pictures while I took more pictures. :)

 Grandpa and Ammo just chillin'.

the BIG 1!

It's a year of firsts at our house!
1st day of school for the 3 older ones and
Ammon Earl's 1st birthday!!! (Aug 11th)
His namesake Ammon is from the Book of Mormon - a valiant missionary who gave up his prince life to serve the Lord and the Lamanites.
Earl is from Jeffrey Earl and great Grandpa Risenmay - Eldon Earl. A name I hope he's proud of because he shares it with 2 amazing men!
First picture! Just minutes old. I love that Jeff gets to be in there with me. He keeps me calm by talking to me - it's a very sweet and tender moment for me. Aside from being cut up just on the other side of the blue curtain.
I can't believe it's been a year already. I remember being stressed last year because my mom wasn't here to come help - she usually comes for several weeks (she was on a mission in Norway with my dad). My dad does projects, my mom folds laundry and they help me take care of our family while I'm recovering from surgery.
This time my sister came and brought 3 of her own helpers. I was sad I wasn't home to enjoy them (being in the hospital for 4 days), but I knew my kids were in good hands and would go wherever they could with their aunt and cousins. I missed my mom, but my sister was a good sub. :) However she didn't bring my brother-in-law to do projects...Oh well.

And I had other great helpers too - Judy came for 2 weeks, then Shayla and Marissa came too. I couldn't ask for a better family!

So my little Ammo is a sweet little guy - he just rolls with the punches, literally. This kids is tackled, yelled at (they like to scare him, he doesn't scare easily) :), pushed, told to chase and just all around LOVED. He can walk with amazing grace - he just powers through all the toys that surround his feet and off he goes to climb the end of the couch and land face first, sits up and smiles at himself. :)
  mmmmmm,cupcake!

I tried for a good picture. This is what I get for trying. :)

Jeff trying to figure out the camera.......
I got to be in most of the pictures because I was 'helping' Ammo open his presents. Thank you grandparents!! :)
cute sisters in matching jammies! there's a baby size - I keep asking if they'll let Ammo wear it so they can all match....possibly even one for Lucas' size.
Daddy bought me a hammer, grandma gave me the book to chew on.
Excuse me Abbey, I'm trying to get to the stuff everyone is trying to hide from me. They keep telling me it's garbage.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want too!
Shake n go Toy Story car
playing ball with my big bro
 We were REALLY tired. :)

Happy birthday Ammo!
