First day of Pre-K

Abbey started pre-K, the week after the other kids started school. She was WAY excited!
Her top 3 reasons for being excited about school:
#3: It's school and now it's cool!
#2: going to Miss Janna's just like Luke did last year
and

and the #1 reason, she loves to go to preschool.......
is her best friend Drew gets to go with her. :)
These 2 are inseparable and can be heard across the chapel or even 2 feet away in the chapel, 'saying' HI!!!!!, There's ABBEY!! There's DREW!!!
I love these two!! It works out perfectly because Miss Janna moved farther away. Stacy and I can now carpool and it's so great! We pick up Drew on our way to take Lea/Luke to school, drop off those two, then head to preschool. Stacy then picks them up - which give Ammon a chance to have a real nap before the noise returns (Abbey has suddenly decided to make up for Lucas not being around - that girl is LOUD)

Oh happy day at Happy Meadows preschool!

1st day of school

Jumping ahead from vacation and back I guess because my kids have been in school for a month.
I now have a 3rd grader and a Kindergartener as well as a Pre-schooler. Oh and one homeschooler (he's only 1)

Lucas is SOOOOOO excited to go to school. He's gotten 3 stamps almost every day!!!! He has Mrs. Brookshire and he is lovin' school! He's done so well and loves all of his new friends. Only one incident so far that required a call from the teacher and VP. I pulled him from school that day because he was just a mess - my poor baby. He came home, took a nap and we started over the next day. It was an accident that involved scissors and a small scratch on his 'partner' (kid who sits next to him). He wrote a letter to his teacher and to Joel. And even though he made a small mistake, his teacher still thinks he's a great kid and loves having him in class. It's good to have teachers who care and understand. It's going to be a good learning experience for all of us.
He is color blind, so we're learning quickly how to read the labels on the crayons so he can get the right colors.

Lea is in 3rd grade with Mrs. Wendling. It's fast paced at their school and they didn't waste any time getting back into homework. Now we need to work on turning in that homework, we spend so much time on. Spelling and phonograms are very easy for her. Reading comprehension, not so much. Neither is it for Jeff or I.  But we work on it together and muddle through. Math is fun for all of us - sort of. :)

Jeff was able to come and be a part of their first big day. Then joined other kinder parents at the 'Boo Hoo Breakfast'. Had some yummy food and headed out

I went to the store and this was such a huge moment for me.......ONLY 2 kids!!!
They both ride the bus home. I made them promise to sit next to each other because last year Lea was the only one of her friends that didn't have a sibling to sit by. So they get to this year.
It was extremely quiet the first day I almost forgot I had kids in the house. Abbey missed her buddies and so did Ammon. Lucas asked me several times if Ammon missed him. Yes, yes he did. :)
I also got  'Mom, I gonna miss you'. I'm gonna miss you to bud.
They are SOOOOO exhausted when they get home, but we make it work. I'm so glad they each have excellent teachers. I'm grateful they work so hard to help my kids succeed. We're very proud of you both!!

Irish Beach - day 1

We got to Irish Beach on Sunday, ate dinner, played a little and took over the little house we got to stay in. It was perfect! 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, kitchen, living area, dining area, big patio out back, hot tub (which I couldn't imagine using having just left AZ), and a big grass area for the kids to run around and play.

Monday we went to the beach - had to drive there and through a gated area. Perfect. I didn't want to be right on the beach and have to worry about my kids playing in the water. No worries, they only get their feet wet. :)
BTW: we took almost 1000 photos in the month of July...........
Ammo was happy to be free from the horrible carseat and spent his time eating wipes, cleaning the floor, learning to take a few steps and well that was the best part....the worst is coming.
Long walks on the beach: Jeff/Ammo, Steven, in front: Jase, G-ma Judy, Abbs, Luke, Mandy, Anna, Lea

Do you love all the red hair!? :) Abbs, Lea, Lucas, Anna, Jase
I heard my name being called from above......

 Evil baby.......hahahaha!

Obviously this man spends most of his LIFE in pants........sorry if you're blinded now from the extreme whiteness of his legs. :)

 The water was FREEZING!

Uncle Steven helped Abbey build some little sand castles
And those NOT getting in the water, sat back and enjoyed the view - cold, but fun.

Occasionally kids who were cold from the water came to sit with grandma and borrow dad's sweatshirt
a slightly bigger wall that withstood a large wave
 Ammo had a snack
 and then another snack.
Braving the waves with Uncle Nathan
