Welcome back Grandpa & Grandma!!

My parents returned home from their mission in Trondheim Norway on Feb 11. As quick as could be and 2 talks (their ward split a couple months ago so they got to speak in two wards), they got on the first flight (March1) to Phx. And came when we needed them most. Jeff had lost his job Monday, they came Tuesday and my niece Taylee was admitted to the hospital Tuesday night (she’s fine now). My mom went to Wickenburg to watch the other 4 children and my dad stayed with us – took us to Costco, finished projects, washed the cars and played with the kids. Sunday, they switched places.

A future mother:

I was teasing Abbey today – simply sitting on the couch with my feet raised off the floor to block a ball she was aiming at me.

She told me to:

“Put your feet down. Right now!”

“Put your feet down.”

“1…2…3…”

“1…..2…..3…..4…..5.”

‘Now what?’ I asked

and before I even finished asking:

“Now you go to Time out.”

sheesh, she’s strict! Smile

Lost slipper

Dear Cinderella,

In case you can’t remember where you left your plastic ‘slipper’……

It’s in the parking lot at Ross.

Love, Abbey

One day at a time

It has been a whirlwind 3 days.
Since Monday:
Jeff lost his job,
My parents came in (Tuesday)
Tuesday afternoon: 1 month old niece Taylee admitted to the hospital in Phoenix
Jan1 056
my Mom left to go take care of the other 4 children
my dad stayed with us.
She’ll be in the hospital who knows how long – has RSV and Pneumonia.
Part of a conversation with my sister-in-law: I’m so sorry, I feel bad Taylee is in the hospital.
You feel bad for us, why? I feel bad for you.
Why??
Because Jeff lost his job.
Oh yeah right.

How quickly your problems can be forgotten when you focus on the needs of others.

Soccer AZ winter 2011

Another successful soccer season. This was a little more complicated because Lea and Lucas usually played at the same time so we had to split up to watch them. Still so much fun!
Lea was on the Desert Heat. Lucas was the Lions. They’re getting better with every season. Good job guys!!

Soap, pencils and ‘sorry Ammon!’

A few posts back, I mentioned we made our own dye/perfume free laundry soap – it was a family science project. Next time I will be more patient melting the soap on the stove to get a better mix.
Check out how HOT the water from our faucet is – during the summer it’s worse!

Finished product – feels good to not have to run to the store and spend $$ to buy a small box of laundry soap. Next batch has cost me $1.79 to buy the Fels Naptha bar. YEAH FOR SAVING MONEY!! Smile

Valentine’s present – put to good use. A new pencil sharpener – it’s fascinating!

SORRY AMMON!!
Jeff was in with Lucas tucking him in for bed and the girls, Ammon and I were supposedly getting ready for bed too. The girls got these adorable bunnies from Grandma Riz and she made other outfits for them. I decided to try one on Ammon so Jeff could come tuck the ‘girls’ in…….it almost fit. The girls thought it was hilarious, Ammon - not so much!
